As part of the Comenius project TheWealthof Health, Taste and Culture, on 19 December 2011, the students of Complex of Schools No. 8 in Nowa Słupia attended a lecture about proper nutrition prepared by Mrs. Dr. Grażyna Świderska-Kołacz a specialist of nutrition and dietetics at the University of Jan Kochanowski and the Academy of Sciences in Kielce. The researcher of UJK got familiar our students with the principles of good nutrition and the ways to prevent more frequently occurring diseases of civilization such as obesity, anorexia, bulimia or cardiovascular disease. The lecturer presented the latest trends in aspects of nutrition as well as discussed the currently accepted by scientists pyramid of proper selection of nutrients in our diet, which will cover the energy needs of our body and yet not lead to the mentioned above diseases. The biggest impression on the participants of the lecture had pictures of people affected by diseases caused by bad nutrition.



At present the students are working on the posters promoting healthy eating habits.
